The Penderwicks
Jeanne Birdsall is an amazing author. One of the best books she's written is The Penderwicks. It's a summer tale of four sisters, two rabbits, and a very interesting boy. The characters are so well developed it's like you've known them their whole lives. The plot is also very interesting. It's about a family who goes to a cottage behind a mansion for the summer. The four daughters meet the son of the lady who owns the mansion and they try to stay out of trouble. That doesn't mean they do. I would definitely recommend this funny book.

The Penderwicks on Gardam Street
The Penderwicks on Gardam Street is the sequel to the first book, The Penderwicks, by Jeanne Birdsall. Both of the books involve the same characters, four sisters, but also introduces new ones. The writing is very good, and the plot is simple yet very complicated. Mr. Penderwick has been forced to start dating by their silly aunt, and the oldest sister has a growing amount of problems with her feelings, trying to stay honorable, but trying, also, to " save " their dad from getting a new wife. This is a story of courage, friendship and love, and is just as charming as the first one.
